Encounters is the UK’s leading short film, animation, and virtual reality festival running across 6 days and multiple locations in Bristol during September. By promoting the importance of film in its many guises, Encounters wants to inspire its audiences.
Encounters approached Pansensic to help them capture and interpret the emotions experienced by their audience at the many varied events using their world-leading behavioural insight software that can identify and decipher emotions expressed within written and spoken textual data.
Open-ended feedback will be collected from the audience during the festival, using a QR code and smart survey app, which will be analysed by Pansensic’s Hybrid-AI Artificial Intelligence. The analysis will reveal the full spectrum of emotions experienced by the audience and identify what caused them. This information provides valuable indicators about what is driving the experiences and behaviours of the audiences, helping Rich Warren, Encounters CEO, and his team understand how and where they can make effective innovation.
Pansensic MD Theo Davey said ,”Partnering with Rich and Encounters Film Festival is a great opportunity to show the value our advanced text analytics software can bring to those who want to understand and measure, better than ever before, the experience they are delivering to their audiences. We call it AUDIENCE-i as it provides a new level of insight and reporting data specific to audiences’ experiences at festivals such as Encounters, as well as museums and heritage sites.”
Rich Warren, Encounters CEO, added ,”Collecting audience data and feedback has become an integral part of how cultural events are measured in the 21st century. At Encounters we were keen to explore data capture beyond demographics and partnering with Theo at Pansensic and their behavioural insight software presents a unique opportunity to fully appreciate our audience engagement activities.”
AUDIENCE-i was developed in partnership with Cornwall Museums Partnership with support funding from Innovate UK.
Encounters Film Festival runs from 27th September – 2nd October 2022 in Bristol, UK
